Early Dismissal-Heat Advisory

PVCA Parents,

As you may know, the heat wave we are experiencing in Western Massachusetts this week has led multiple school districts to modify their schedules for the rest of the week. At PVCA, we will also modify our plan in an effort to keep students safe and to provide what is most reasonable for them, for you, and for our staff. Here are some details of our plan:

• We will have a full day of school today, Wednesday, September 6. Outside activities will be curtailed and afterschool outside activities will be cancelled. Springfield busing will continue to operate as normal.
• For Thursday, September 7, we will dismiss early at 11:45am. Afterschool programming will be limited to indoor upper school sports. There will be no afterschool care for Thursday.
• Unfortunately, we do need to postpone the “Back to School Night” scheduled for the evening of September 7, which is now re-scheduled for Tuesday, September 19.
• If there will be any changes to the Friday schedule, we will communicate those changes early tomorrow.
