The purpose of a dress code is to ultimately glorify God. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (I Cor. 10:31). The Scriptures also admonish us to be modest in our dress (I Timothy 2:8-9). There is not perfect agreement among believers as to the definition of modesty, but in principle, we can all agree that modesty reflects character. Beyond this, dress code becomes a matter of institutional preference. We do not want the dress code to be our emphasis. We are a Christian school and we want the study of God’s world through the lens of Scripture to be our focus.
